Cookies for Santa

For those who know me, you know I don't cook, at all!

But I want to have traditons with Gavin and one of them is making cookies for Santa.

Friday afternoon I got the batter out, added an egg and some melted butter and made the dough.

Gavin picked out his cookie cutter shape and away he went.

After they baked and cooled, we tested our decorating skills.  I was very pleased with the end result and Gavin had fun, mainly because we made a mess with the flour and he got the eat the icing as he put it on the cookies!

Christmas Decorations

I am so excited to show off my Christmas decorations in our new home.

We got started a little early this year because we were having all of Jeremy's family over to our home for Thanksgiving.  It was a huge success and everyone had a wonderful time, everyone was laughing and telling stories!

To my blogger friends please post some of your decorations!  I know several of you guys are very creative and have fabulous decorating skills.

Halloween 2010

SO LIFE IS CRAZY, EXCUSE THE LATENESS OF THIS POST!

Gavin wanted to be everything but what I wanted him to be for Halloween.  I hope that I can get away with picking out his costume one more year but I doubt it.

Gavin was a "Scarecrow", a very cute Scarecrow, might I add!  He of course wanted to be Bumblebee from Transformers or Spiderman, with those little plastic mask that cover your face, YUCK!

We ended up going over to Gi Gi's house and trick or treating with Gavin's cousins Logan (Batgirl) and Jack (Spider)!  Everyone was super cute and we all had a fun time!

Carving Time...

Since Jeremy will not be back home until Halloween we decided to go ahead and carve our pumpkin. Maybe it won't be completed rotted by Halloween night!

But anyway, about 1 mile from our home is this pumpkin patch that has really big pumpkins. So of course Gavin picked the biggest and frumpiest pumpkin ever (we didn't get it) but we did get one that was perfect, it sat up straight and most important Jeremy could pick it up!

When we got home we got set up to carve our pumpkin. We got our little scoop out and started scooping, there was a lot of "pumpkin yuck" as Gavin called it. He was get a hand full and say this is disgusting, who would have thought my little boy would have said that, I thought we was going to love it. That gooey mess between his fingers!

We had no plan or stencil for carving our pumpkin, I just drew him a face and off Jeremy and Gavin went to carving. YES, I let my child use that little carving knife, NO, I will not be getting mother of the year AGAIN this year!

But we made a really cute pumpkin!

Pumpkin Patch

Since we have moved I had to find a new pumpkin patch to go to that was not to far away.

I have heard so many good things about Hill Ridge but it's 2 hours away and Mike's farm but it's more for eating rather than Gavin having fun.

I found this website Pumpkin Patches and More that has every county in North Carolina listed and their pumpkin patches, its really a great website.

Well I found this pumpkin patch in Clinton called Hubb's Pumpkin Patch, which is only 20mins from our house. The pictures made it look fun for Gavin! It was an OK place to go, but it might had been better if it was not 80 degrees outside, not very fall like!

We went with some friends of ours Cori, Patrick and Miss Emory. Patrick makes Gavin call him Uncle Patrick so when they get older Gavin will not want to date Emory because he will think they are cousins, too funny! Speaking of cousins Logan, Gavin's real cousin went with us also to join in in all the fun!

Lenoir County Fair

As a kid I love and waited for the fair every year. I loved to ride all the rides, the faster and higher they went the better. I am afraid that my child is the same at 3. He wanted to ride every ride out there! He did get to ride a couple rides even though he didn't meet the height requirement, Gavin is only 34 1/2 inches tall and most of the rides require you to be 36.

I almost forgot, I don't know how I could though, Gavin tells me everyday how he needs to go ride the ferris wheel with daddy. Jeremy took him on the ferris wheel and he loved every minute on it. Again ,Again is all we heard! But we all had fun and got some cotton candy and several candy apples for the ride home.

Also Baby Jack loves cotton candy, can't you tell and yep he's only 7 months old!

And I have no idea how to spell fairswheel, if you know please comment, I feel like an idiot!

Happy Birthday GAVIN!

Gavin is now 3, WOW has time flown by so fast. It is so strange to say that I have a 3 year old. We had a little party for him and rented a bounce house which was a big hit with the kids. The theme was "Sock Monkey", we found these cute sock monkies at the pottery and decided to use that as the theme. We had Linda Blizzard (Cake Construction) do Gavin's cake, she is amazing and very creative.

New Home

Most of you know that we have bought a new home! We have decided to live in Beulaville in a beautiful farm house.

I questioned at first "A FARM HOUSE", me in a farm house? Well after going inside I was sold!

This house is not for everyone but it is for us. We walked in the first time and I just had that feeling and knew this is where I wanted Gavin to grow up and where I wanted to grow old with my husband.

I have added pictures but there will be more to come as we do the changes and upgrades. So stayed tuned!

The vines growing up the porch have already been taken down!
And the "experienced landscaping"(words by realtor) that you see will be taken up this week!

Skating

We had Riley's Birthday party at the skating ring the other night and Gavin had a blast.

He didn't try the skating until later but all the game machines and the jungle gym that the had kept him entertained for over an hour.

Then we finally got him to put some skates on and off he went, with a little help of course. They were these plastic like skates that you really just walked in, but he did good!

My baby boy is getting so big too fast~

Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

So this post is a little late!

Jeremy's 33rd birthday was last Saturday, that's right 33rd! I have an old man for a husband but I wouldn't trade him for anything. There are not too many husbands out there that would cook all meals, clean, run their wife's bath water and light her some candles so it can be relaxing, be a wonderful father to our son, and last be not least put up with me.

I hope I didn't make all you other wives out there jealous!

I love you Babe!
