Boy's Best Friend!

Gavin loves Freckles so much...they have been best friends even before he was born.  She laid on my belly when I was pregnant with him.  When we brought him home from the hospital she climb up in his car seat and laid with him.
He calls her "baby girl"most of the time, that's a little nickname she picked up after her surgery a couple of years ago. But she runs to him when he walks in the back door from daycare and gets her loving from him.  It's the sweetest thing to see Gavin be so gentle and caring with her and for her.  Fills up my heart with pure joy!!

Strawberry Train ride

Gavin's daycare had a field trip to The Strawberry Patch in Pink Hill.  Luckily, Jeremy and I could both go, which makes me the happiest that we can both enjoy these special times with Gavin.
The best part of this field trip was the strawberry train ride.  Jeremy throughly enjoyed it more so than the kids.  He climbed right in a barrel, well squeezed in and off they went.  I am so blessed to have a husband and father to Gavin that loves to have fun with him.

McDonalds fries never hurt anyone...

Gavin and I met GiGi for lunch out at a little spot in Kinston.  They are known for their beautiful little pond...and of course the fish, ducks and geese.  They also have a sign up that says don't feed the animals unless you have gotten food from inside the sports shop.
Gavin decided we wanted to share his Happy Meal....I mean a little bit of McDonalds fries never hurt anyone or anything!!!

Strawberry lips...

Today was the Famous Strawberry Festival in Wallace.  We packed up and headed downtown to check out what all the hype and talk was about.
Well as to be expected, there was lots of strawberries.  They had strawberry rides, strawberry shakes, strawberry slushes, strawberry jam, strawberry ice cream, strawberry lemonade and even just plain ole strawberries!
It got hot walking around on the black asphalt quick, so of course Gavin had to try out a strawberry slushy...OMG, it was so good!  He ate every bit of it and had proof that he was at the Strawberry Festival with his strawberry lips.

Ironman vs. Bumblebee

Live and in the center ring we have the one and only daddy Bumblebee aka Jeremy vs Ironman himself aka Gavin.  This is going to be a tough and fierce competition...I am personally a little nervous for everyone's safety!
But in the end ironman pulled out the big W....and Bumblebee has already challenged a rematch!!!!

Mother's Day

Gavin made me a card at day care today and it was straight from his little heart.
It was his hand print that was made into a flower, then they cut out a pot and wrote, why I love my mommy!
Well Gavin wrote on his own, which had to be translated later, why he loves me....
"She takes me to Chuckie Cheese!"
I absolutely love it and know this was all him.  I do love my little man some kinda good!!

To the moon and back 100 times...

Happy Mother's Day!!

Gavin and I met GiGi in Kinston at Olivia's for lunch.  Of course that is after we got locked out of the house.  I swear I struggle so much, my mind has been in such a tissy.  Trying to be on time, making sure I had her present, making sure I was matching and grabbing my pocket book.  I always forget or leave something...this is all from having a 5 year old little boy named Gavin.
But I wouldn't have it any other way, I  love him to the moon and back 100 times!!

Tie Dying Adventure

Gavin had one of his little buddy's, Bryson spend the night with us Friday night.  And me being the cool mom that I am, wanted to make it fun for the boys.  So I thought tie dying shirts would be a blast.
Well it was a whole lot more fun for me than them, that's for sure.  And come on, we are talking about boys!  It was a lot of prep and waiting more so than anything.  Of course squirting the bottles of color on the shirts, deciding what design they wanted and of course unwrapping them was the absolute best part.
But twisting the shirts, placing rubber bands, wrapping them up and waiting 8 hours to unwrap them...yea not so fun for 5 year old boys that can't sit still!!
It was all good though, we entertained them fully with a soccer game, followed by kick ball then pizza!!!
The shirts in the end were a huge hit and the boys were so excited with their "electric ball" as they called them.

He knows it...

It's the last game of the season and our team has grown and learned so much.  Each game we got better and better, everyone could see the changes in their little player.  Especially me with Gavin, he has learned to play hard, run fast and not get out.
He is tuff stuff and he knows it!!

Ironman's secret lab...

Gavin loves Lego's...he has several Lego kits, a Lego table, and even gets the Lego magazine in the mail!
In the last Lego magazine that we got, they were having a contest on who could build the most top secret Ironman's lab.  Gavin was up for the challenge, so upstairs to his Lego table we went. And an hour later, this was the final product.  He has such a creative and top secret imagination!!

Selfie of sweetness!

My little man is pure sweetness...he is absolutely the sweetest and most caring child ever.  He always says "mommy you ok, just checking" then randomly and totally out of the blue when you need to hear it the most, those 3 little words that swell your heart, "I LOVE YOU"!!

Daddies that are Firemen...

Gavin and Jack both have daddies that our firemen.  It's in their blood, I guess, at least that's what everyone keeps telling me.  My guess is its just a boy thing, cause I have much bigger plans for Gavin, momma's gotta be taken care of when she gets older. LOL
But this is just about the only fire toy we have at our house, a huge blow up fire house!!  Gavin absolutely loves it, Santa brought it this past Christmas and it usually stays out in his room so all he has to do is flip the switch and up it goes.  Since Jack was over and the weather was fabulous we took it outside and them play all afternoon in it.  They had a blast, the pretend play and their little creative minds is so impressive and so fun to just sit back, watch and listen.
I do love these two and their firemen daddies!!

It's all about the belt...

So my handsome little man is just that! He has his blue seersucker pants on, white knit Polo shirt and Sperry boat shoes, but oh no, that's not all....
It's all about the belt, Spiderman buckle belt!! That completes the outfit to its entirety and he is ready to roll out!!

Chef Gavin...

We have to get creative when it comes to getting Gavin to eat. He is so picky about everything and only eats certain foods. He is doing better at trying new things but after a little research I found that getting the kids involved in making their own food helps them get more interested in wanting to actually eat it.
We had nothing to loose...so we gave it a try. And it worked, well with pizza anyway! We haven't tried anything else , we didn't want to push it. So one step or food group at a time. He had a blast, he wanted to do every step, spread out the sauce, sprinkle the cheese and strategically place the pepperoni and ham!
Look delicious!!!

Still his flavor...

Gavin's little "girlfriend" as he calls her is still his flavor of the month. Even though they are on different t-ball teams they can work through it and still hang out.
He is too funny with his flavored and little Miss Rebecca is just to cute in her t-ball getup!!

Battle of the monkey bars...

Gavin has tried and tried countless times to make it all the way across our neighbors monkey bars. Well today is the day that he succeeded! He has got to be the happiest boy ever, he can now check that off his many things to conquer!! And I have a lot more for him as well...

Boatin time...maybe not!!

The weather has finally warmed up this week, well into the 80's. We had talked about taking the boat out, breathing in some salt air all week. We were pumped and all excited, even more excited when some friends of ours asked us to go with them on their boat.
After church we packed up some snacks, all climbed in the truck and off went down to Wilmington to put the boat in. Luckily I packed some extra clothes knowing its usually still a little chilly when just riding on the boat. And thank goodness I did, it was freezing. The clouds had rolled in and covered the sun, making it extra cold!
But we made the best of it...you can always have a good time with good friends! Gavin and Spencer had a blast just chilling (literally) singing to the music and even a little fishing!!
