Which list?

Its that time to go and see Santa...to sit on his knee, tell him what you want for Christmas and find out if you are on the naughty or nice list.
Gavin had this long list of things he wanted Santa to bring and I of course had my pen and pad ready to make sure we had everything covered.  He freezes up when he gets around the big guy, only one thing came out, Hot Wheel car maker!  I asked Gavin, what happened to his list on things and all he said was I got a little nervous.  I think because he knows he has really only been ok and not his very best that we know he can be.  But he will get there before Christmas:)

Candy Stealer...

This was the first year we have made a gingerbread house.  GiGi got us a little kit and Gavin was super exicted about putting this thing together and decorating it.
He has taken after his daddy when it comes to cooking and wanting to be in the kitchen.  He loves to watch cooking shows with Jeremy and gets all into them, wanting Jeremy to try things he sees on tv.  He doesn't get to extreme because he is still a very picky eater.  But he saw some show where they were cooking for kids and the had hot dogs wrapped in bacon with tooth picks suck in them, 2 of his favorite foods!
But back to the gingerbread house!
So we got the big pieces seperated, all the different candies in little seperate containers and softened the icing.  We were ready to put this house together.  It took a little patience and steady hands but we got it together.  Then I let Gavin go to it and decorate away, however he wanted.  Of curse Mr. Peculiar wanted it to look just like the box!  So after 30 mins it did...he had every piece just how he wanted it.
We sat it on the wine rack for display and show it off.  But each time I walked by I noticed pieces of candy missing from the roof, one piece here, then 3 pieces on the other side.  He couldn't keep his little fingers off...but it was ok...he had a blast:)

Poker face

Gavin loves playing Monolpy these days. He loves the fact that he gets all this money and essentially can buy everything he lands on, which he does.  He is so funny playing this game, he really gets into it and hates going to jail!!
One Saturday morning he wanted to play and so we got it out and played for hours, he only had about $8 dollars left, so we had not choice but to stop.
But the funny thing was Gavin trying to be all poker face about the game. He went and found these heart sunglasses and painted some camo paint on his face. I kept telling him you have to be strategic about what you buy, don't buy everything you land on.  So I guess that was his strategic move!!  Basically that too is why it tool so long to play, otherwise he would have been out of money in 30 minutes.
But we had fun and made some memories and added some quirkiness too his list:)

Turkey Tim

Gavin's kindergarten class had a little Thnaksgiving feast and performance.  They sang a Turkey Tim song, did a little dance and told some historical facts about Thanksgiving.  And after all that we all sat down and ate a little turkey ourselves.

Playing with daddy

The Beulaville Fire Department had a staged burn, where someone gave them a house to burn down.  All the firemen took turns going inside to put out the fire in different rooms to get a feel for what it would be like in a real situation.
Of course Gavin wanted to watch and really see what daddy does when he goes to fire calls.  When we got there they had it rolling and it was HOTT...that is all Gavin kept saying.  But he had fun and loved every minute!!

Hay Barn...

I try to get our Christmas card pictures done around the middle of November so I can get our cards out by the first week in December.
I had an idea in my head where I really just wanted Gavin in the picture but when we got to Mr. Joey's farm, my creative mind went to work.  And they also turned into a kind of maternity photo shot too!  But I didn't want to see anything but my belly and Gavin's face.  And the cool thing about these pictures is Jeremy took all the pictures with Gavin and I.  I was quite excited by the results considering I was not prepared to be in the pictures.  I had several flaws going on, fingernails needed to be painted, blue bra with white shirt, the list goes on. But with photo editing I worked it out and got a fabulous Christmas card!!

12 vs. 24

I never took belly pictures with Gavin...I refused to show my largeness.  But I've decided to embrace the big belly and enjoy this pregnancy as much as I can.  Here is a 12 week picture vs 24 week!!

Halloween 2013

I have to be honest....I have never let Gavin pick out his Halloween costume, ever, might I add.  We go to the store and what does he pick out, the cheapest, most common costume there is.  You know, the ones with the plastic face mask, that cover your entire face and they have a one piece costume, velcro up the back, made from who knows what kind of material.  Ok...that was a little dramatic, now you know where he gets it!!  But my point is my little man is too handsome to be covering up his face and to have the same costume as every other child.  He should stand out in the crowd and be unique...and to accomplish this, I pick out his costumes.
So this year, I decided on a viking, it does not cover his sweet face, it was very unique and every house we went to was impressed and complimented him...that's a big score in my books:)
But I had to sell it to him, he was not to happy about this whole idea.  His plan for a costume was the red power ranger, that included red plastic face mask, I don't think so!!  Well good thing I work in sales...cause momma sold it in!
All it took was telling him that he was a huge dragon slayer and add a sword to the costume....man I'm good!  He will think me one day...I hope:)

Pumpkin carving time!

Gavin requested a Frankenstien pumpkin for Halloween this year.  Of course that design didn't come in our little carving kit, so I being the most amazing momma ever, google Frankenstien pumpkin faces and print one off.  It was very difficult, I totally recommend the simple triangle eyes and nose pumpkin face.  But whatever my little man wants I do my best to make happen.

Big Brother Duties...

Gavin has already started in on some of his big brother duties.  The first was helping picking out her car seat and stroller, since as he says he will be wheeling her around.  He is going to be an awesome big brother!!

Pure sweetness....

We have always asked Gavin to say the blessing every time we sit down to eat.  Some days we would have to beg him, some days we would have to say it with him and others he would just do it without being asked.  Tonight at the gender reveal party with our friends and family Gavin did it without being asked, he actually made sure everyone had their eyes closed and their prayer hands up.  It was the sweetest thing ever and my sister in law caught this picture of him saying the blessing...pure sweetness!!!

It's a GIRL!!

Even though it's our second child we wanted to celebrate in style with the exciting news of Gavin going to have a little sister!!
We had the party planned and the only thing we were waiting on was the ultrasound appointment.  We were over the moon exicted to make this announcement and wanted Gavin to have a huge part in helping tell our family and friends.  So we decided to tell everyone by silly string.  We have had silly string fights at some of Gavin's birthday parties and they were a huge hit, not only with him but everyone!!
But the kicker was everyone keep saying and telling us we know it's a girl...just tell us.  Well Jeremy, I nor Gavin never caved and never told.  We just kept saying your going to be in for a surprise, of course trying to throw them off.  And to really throw everyone off we did buy both blue and pink silly string.  We let everyone have the blue and us 3 had the pink.  We got in a circle, counted down and everyone unloaded their cans.  All believing it was a boy until Gavin yelled out sike and we unloaded our pink cans back at the group.  Everyone was tickled pink and so happy for us.
Gavin is the most exicted though...he is very happy to be having a little sister.  I think mainly because he knows if it was a brother he would have to share all his toys!!

Not 1 but 2...

The other night after Gavin got his bath and put his pajamas on, he came and sat down on the couch with us to chill out and watch a little tv before bed.
Well in typically Gavin fashion, he looks at us and says my bottom teeth are really loose.  So he came and stood in front of us and we made him wiggle the loose one, as soon as he did it feel out.  After a few screams and tears from the blood small amount of blood, he says my other tooth is loose too.  So we gave him a napkin and told him to pull it, he was needless to say scared to death to do it.  Jeremy had the fabulous idea to tie a string to it and pull...luckily that didn't work.
30 minutes of trying to talk Gavin into just pulling it himself...he finally did and this one bleed a lot more than the other. But it was all worth it later that night when the tooth fairy had to double up and pay big time.
But in a typically Gavin way of things...he lost 2 teeth all in one night:)

It will get there...maybe

School and Gavin are not mixing to well.  Most of you know that he is a wild man, has many quirks and likes to talk, a lot!  Well that doesn't go over to good at school.
So we've had to brib him with special things.  One of the first things he asked for was a trip bowling.  He has never been before so I have no idea where this idea generated from...one of his many quirks!!  So the deal was you get 5 green smiley faces and we will go!
Well that was easy...why didn't we do this whole bribing thing before.  Oh that's right cause all the books say not to, well you know what books and all you medical doctors, if it works then it's happening at the Pearson household!!!

Serious business...

Gavin received a very cool dinasaur dig present at his birthday party.  It was fossilized dinosaur bone parts inside a block of very hard dirt/sand.  You had to chisele away at this block to get each piece so you could put together your dinasaur.
Well Gavin did just that for about an hour but before he even started it took us about 20 minutes to get prepared.  We had to have the googles on, the brush ready, the wedge and hammer in hand, now we could get down to serious business.  I love my Gavin and all his little quirks!!

Abracadabra...He's Floating

It's already that time again...Happy Birthday to my big boy who is having his 6th birthday. Time flies when you are having fun with this wild man of mine!!!
We got Chris and Neal's magic show to come and do a little magic for us and some of Gavin's friends. They were absolutely amazing and would so recommend them to anyone.  They were not not entertaining for the kids but also the adults...I loved every second!! But my favorite was when they had Gavin go up and the made him float in mid air, the coolest ever.  They also had this huge white bunny that appeared and disappeared throughout the show.  He did show up again after disappearing so all the kids could pet him.
Everyone had such a good time and of course a party is not complete without one of Gavin's famous birthday cakes from Linda Blizzard.  He loved it and so did the magicians, they said they had never seen or had a cake take detailed at one of their parties.

Chop sticks anyone...

Jeremy and I love to eat at the Jappense steak house in Jacksonvile.  They give you to much food but it is always so good.  And Gavin loves it because of the fish in the pond (yes this is inside the restaurant that we love to eat at),  they make him multiple onion fire volcanos, and the chop sticks.  But let me make sure you understand, he doesn't like to eat their food, we have to bring in McDonalds chicken nuggets, he only likes to watch and use the chop sticks...just one to add to his quirks!!
